Quilted Ornaments

For the last couple of years I have wanted to make the quilted ornaments that I've seen on Pinterest around the holidays.  Well I decided This would be the year. Anyway I was taking to my friend Carol Whaley about them and she said she made them several years ago.  That's all it took, we went to Joann's got  lots of fabric, pins and styrofoam balls came back to my house and cut strips from the fabric and started folding and pinning. How is it something that pretty iis really that easy to make. Answer... A really good teacher ... Thanks Carol.

This is what we started with ...
Besides Carol my Ghoul on a stool wanted to help ... (By the way his name is Salem)
He's such a ham ...
Here's what I've made so far ... Now I want to start on Christmas ornaments....that means
another shopping strip...

My Favorite Doll

I was asked what was my favorite doll that I have made so far......
Well for me that was easy, It's my version of  Dracula the Vampire.  I love Halloween and everything
that goes with it.  But, Dracula has a very special place in my heart I fell in love many years ago with my very own Vampire (just kidding he's not) but he is Ukrainian  and his family is from the Carpathian Mountains bordering Romania.  And as we all know that's where Transylvania is ... lol.

My Vampire tag is made using Julie Nutting's Adam Stamp and the Business Casual Stamp along with a piece of black burlap paper I purchased from Joann's awhile ago. Using Versa Magic Cloud White Ink I stamped the suit on the burlap, fussy cut it out and used the scraps to stamp the lapels and pocket flaps a second time, fussy cut them out and glued them on to the suit to give it some depth. I stamped Adam on flesh colored print paper from Julie Nutting and fussy cut him out.  I then stamped in black  the top part of the clothes so I would have the shirt image, cut that out and attached it to the flesh colored Adam. Using markers I colored his tie red and his hair black.  Then glued his suit on.
For the cape I glue some burgundy satin BoBunny Ribbon onto black cardstock and hand cut the cape.  The tags background is from Recollections Midnight Magic collection it was the perfect paper with the moon and the stars.  I played with the placement of the paper until it was just right before gluing it down.  I cut a fence from a scrap piece of gray cardstock with the Martha Stewart Halloween punch that I've had for awhile and glue that on.  There's a small haunted house behind the fence and a black cat sitting on the tombstone that I've had in my stash.  The tombstone's are Jolee Stickers. Used foam dots to attach my vampire  and tombstones and he was done.  I had fun creating this one, its going to be difficult to give away.

PDT Black and White ATC Swap

Another swap I did with the Paper Doll Trading Group.
Although this was my first time doing just a black and white theme I would do it again, it took some
thought and imagination for me.

Thank you Libelula Isabel for my Boy ATC I think he's adorable.

I used Julie Nutting's Party Girl Doll Stamp. I stamped her with Versa Magic Cloud White Ink on Bazzell black cardstock and again stamped her in Black StazOn Ink onto Bazzell White cardstock.
I then fussy cut both images, using just the dress and hair from the white image then glued the dress and hair onto the black image.  Did some doodling on the dress, added Judi Kins Diamond Glaze to her shoes, and added Wink Of Stella GL White to the dresses ruffle. I then glued a scrap of black and white striped paper to the ATC chipboard (I cut from thin cardboard) used foam dots to raise her up, attached the dog brad my friend Laura Casey gave me and the word and letters are from Tim Holtz's Chitchat Verbiages. All to together I think she turned out quite well.

Thank you's for the BBD doll club members

I wanted to make something to thank the ladies in my BBD Doll Club so I hope to accomplish this with these little ATC surprises this month.

To make these little cuties I used the Julie Nutting Witchy Poo Doll Stamp, stamped her several time onto a newsprint paper, and again onto G45 scraps of Rare Oddities, An Eerie Tale and Happy Hauntings papers (8 x 8 prints). All stamping was done with StazOn Black Ink.  I fussy cut all dolls and clothes, pieced and glued everything down used markers to color the strips of the dolls stockings. Once the dolls were done I started on the back grounds of the ATC's.  Again I used scraps from the above papers to create my backgrounds, using saying and embellishments that were on the papers, Judi Kins Diamond Glaze on the clock faces and the Witch's shoes.  The small pumpkins are part of Witchy Poo collection (stamped on to orange paper from the G45 scraps). The spiders and cat are from my stash of  Halloween things.  I love Halloween so this project was a lot of fun to do.  I love creating with using only a few selected things.

Altered Julie Nutting Doll

My niece Victoria plays soccer so I made this tag for her to use in her scrapbook, she's made from a combination of Julies Nutting's Chiara's and  Billy's Doll Stamps.  .

Using the head from Chiara and the body from Billy I created my doll. the papers and stickers I used were given to me and they were scraps so I honestly can not say who's they are.  But I think I have seen something similar at either Michaels or Joann's.  The ribbon is hand dyed seam binding using Tim Holtz's stains.  Both dolls I started out stamping on Julie Nutting's flesh colored print paper, I then attached her head to Billy's body, stamped Billy again on scraps of the soccer paper for the shorts  and on a white paper for the shirt and shoes, fussy cut everything out and glued down.  Added the strip to the white shirt. I colored the shoes with a black marker. Chiara's hair was stamped on a reddish printed Julie Nutting paper.  I used StazOn Black Ink for all stamping.  I love playing with these dolls.

Both these cuties are my great nieces Kaila and Victoria (our soccer player) the little green guy is Ghoolie (Victoria's Ghoul on the Stool).

Purple lion card swap

Stamping and Copic coloring ... I love coloring love the way they turned out

Disney Swap with the PDT girls

Loving my tag from Jennifer Hammond

Another swap I did with the Paper Doll Trading Group.  This time the theme was Disney.

I used Julie Nutting's Candie Doll for my girl. I love making these dolls because I get to use my scraps since it really doesn't take that much paper to create. Candie is stamped on the Julie Nutting flesh colored printed paper, her dress I stamped twice so I could layer the pleats in her skirt to give it dimension. I used  Wink of Stella GL White on lace of the skirt and sleeves, and Judie Kins Diamond Glaze  on the shoes. I also used black twine for the belt and balloon strings and red for the bow on the Mickey Ears. The ears hat and balloons are from a punch.  Minnie and Mickey are Jolee Stickers.  The Disney Castle paper was given to me so sure of brand.

This was a really fun swap and Jennifer without knowing made one of my favorite Disney characters. The colors in her tag are so vibrant I'm really loving this tag.
