Graphic 45 Little Darlings

My neice Melissa  friend Sharon asked if I would make her a  a baby album for her first grandchild.

Since I was already in possession of the New Graphic 45 paper collection Little Darlings

it was a gven as to what papers I would I would use.

Only thing I had to decide is what type of album I would make. I really enjoy making

these chipboard albums, so this one is a 6" x 12" with the binding on the left side.

  

 There's a little vellum pocket enevelope, for a little keepsake on this page.

I decided to make a flip book on this page for journaling.

What's really nice about Graphic 45 paper lines is that everything is coordinated,

which it makes it so easy embellish.

I didn't do anything to this page it's just to pretty to cover .

Once Upon a Time Album

From my paper collection I pulled a paper-stack from DCWV called ONCE UPON A TIME.

Having  purchased this paper awhile ago not knowing exactly what I would do with it right then, but loved it and knew I had to have it. I also knew that I would one day find the perfect project to use it.   Well, I finally found that perfect project for my paper-stack.

 My cousin Jermery has two beatiful little girls that he calls his princess's.  So I decided to honor Princess Lily and Princess Fiona

with my storybook ONCE UPON A TIME papers.

 

I choose to make this album with a 6" x 12" layout using chipboard.  But I did put a little twist to it by having it open in the center, so I cut all but the back cover 6" x 6" and did a wire binding with my chinch on both sides.  This gave me  a 24" layout.  Plenty of room for all of the Princess's pictures.

Having plenty of room for pitcures I decided to cut them out and make a collage with them since I had quite a few I wanted to use.

I used the left side of the album to focus on Princess Lily trying to show  her personality,

  

while using the right side to do the same for Princess Fiona's .

 I love that there were pictures of the girls in their princess gowns and of each of them with a Unicorn how perfect.

 I also put a 6" x 6" Clear Craft Plastic sheet from Recollections between each page to help protect the pictures from sticking.

and to do a little journaling on them with a fine point Sharpe marker,

This was a fun page, because with every princess comes the Knight in Shinning Armor, if you look

carefully you will see him riding up on his horse.

Well maybe not exactly a white horse, but their daddy (the Knight) does drive a #23 Orange Race Car. (Way better....).

Sir Jermery's biggest fans, Princess Lily and Princess Fiona.

Of course we can't forget about Mommy and her Princess's.

And I couldn't resist putting in some Halloween pictures.

Cabinet Cards

I am participating in a Cabinet Card Swap with my In My Vintage Room and Beyond Group this month.  When I first heard about this swap I had no idea what Cabinet Cards were. So after doing a little research on them I found out that they were  First introduced in the 1860's, and cabinet card photographs were similar to cartes-de-visites, only larger. Measuring approximately four inches by six inches and mounted on cardstock (similar to cardboard), cabinet card photos got their name from their size—they were just the right size to be displayed on a cabinet. There were usually done in sepia tones or black and white.
  Ok, so now having an idea of what they were I did some more research as to how to alter them.  And I am sure you have already guessed there are many ways from painting to embellishing these cards. After alot of thought I pulled out some supplies ......

First I scanned the photos into my computer so I could print out the faces on photo paper, then I carefully cut them out and antiqued the edges. I used Stazon Ink and my En Francais (French Words) stamp from Stampin Up and stamped a border around the edges of the card, then I took Tsukinek Terra Cotta Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution and spritzed the entire picture, using a paper towel to blot where I didn't want it to be to dark (around the faces). After letting that dry thoroughly I used a strip of  paper tape (don't know what brand) on each photo. Used Tim Holtz's gears, keys market tag, a pen nib, some metal corners I found in the Dollar Store ages ago, a small piece of ribbon and a left over Prima flower from another project. I also used a the Remember When stamp (purchased at Joann's) I had and inked that up to make it look old.

Card Club Card for June

I decided to go a little Vintage for the month of June with my card.

I used K&Co. coordinating papers, Tim Holtz's Mini Die Dress Form, the ribbon, pearls and flowers came from my statch and I think I got the scissors from Alpha Stamps.  The vintage buttons came from Captured Moments (thank you Tiffany) they were a perfect accent for the card.

Disney Princess

I have a baby shower to attend soon for one of my great niece's, she has chosen the Disney Princess as the baby's theme so this is what I made for her....

            Using scraps of card stock and patterned paper that I had from other projects,

                  I purchased the Disney Princess chipboard figures, flowers, bling

          and  white 12 x 12 frames from Michael's Craft Store

            then worked my magic and my gift was finished.

My Something Fishey LFB Page

Miriam hosted a swap for May the theme was Something Fishey, I decided to get kind of whimsey  

with it and put a goldfish bowl under water with fish swimming in and out of the bowl.
